San
Diego Hotel - There is no shortage of hotels
in San Diego. Most are located in close proximity
to the more popular attractions and public transportation
is readily accessible. This makes travelling around
the city no problem at all. The further from downtown
the less expensive the hotel, but if you plan on taking
public transportation the cost of a taxi might be
more than the hotel room itself.
San Diego offers a wide variety
of hotels with accommodations suitable for everyone,
including children. Prices vary as well. Hotels located
in downtown or other central areas, like Hotel Circle,
can get a bit pricey, but there are many others to
choose from which are more economical.
San Diego Hotels located on the
outskirts of town often don’t require reservations,
which is good if you’re a traveller who prefers
choosing a hotel after you’ve reached your destination.
However, reservations are strongly recommended for
those hotels closer to downtown, especially during
their peak seasons.
Many San Diego Hotels have their
own web-site so you can check out prices, room availability,
amenities, travel packages or other special rates,
make online reservations, and even take a virtual
tour of the rooms and hotel grounds. Some offer some
really great tour packages, which include trips to
Sea World and the World Famous San Diego Zoo.
San Diego’s most famous hotel
by far is the Hotel Del Coronado
located on Coronado Island. Even if you don’t
stay at this extremely upscale hotel, it is worth
checking out, especially during the Christmas holidays
when it’s decorated with thousands of lights.
Ronald Reagan, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and
Charles Lindbergh are just a few of the famous people
that have stayed at this hotel. It’s even rumored
to be haunted by a ghost!
