San
Diego International Airport - There is no
better view of San Diego than when flying into San
Diego International Airport. On a clear day you can
see miles into Mexico, out to sea, and up and down
the coastline. Below you are San Diego’s bays
and harbors, the Coronado Bay Bridge, North Island
Naval Station, Balboa Park, and many of the other
attractions you’re waiting to visit.
The serenity felt by gazing upon the city doesn’t
have to end once your plan lands. Although San
Diego International Airport is the nation’s
busiest single runway commercial airport, it has become
quite user-friendly.
Flying in and out of San Diego becomes easier with
three terminals, including a commuter terminal. Each
of the Passenger-Friendly Terminals
offers food and beverages, such as McDonald’s,
Pizza Hut, and Starbucks. While shops located throughout
make grabbing last-minute souvenirs quick and easy.
Most
of the Major Airlines offer curbside
baggage check in, which is very convenient. Or you
can check your bags at the airline counters located
inside. If your bags are too heavy or you have too
many to carry, baggage carts are available. Claiming
your bags has also become easier. Just follow the
signs to the baggage carousels located on the ground
level of each terminal. Monitors with airline and
flight numbers displayed over each carousel make locating
your luggage a cinch.

Getting to and from San Diego International
Airport is quick and easy. Although the Trolley
and Coaster do not stop at the airport, they do have
stops nearby. Those stops are just short cab rides
away. Other transportation includes rental cars and
an array of shuttles. Shuttle vans and buses are the
most popular and quite convenient. Shuttle service
is available at the Transportation Plazas just across
from Terminals 1 and 2 and curbside at the Commuter
Terminal.
